Group trip to Granada

Image
Welcome back, I am back with another blog on my study abroad experience. So far throughout my blogs I have discussed a variety of activities I have been able to do just within my first two weeks in Seville. What a wonderful city Seville is as I never find myself being bored as there is so much to do and explore. Well the focus of this blog is a little different than my last couple blogs. This blog will be spent talking about my first included trip through the SAIIE program. SAIIE includes a couple of day or two day trips within there study abroad program, and this past weekend our group was able to take our first trip. On Friday morning we packed the seven students and Samantha Chipres into a van and headed to the beautiful city of Granada with a schedule set to visit some of the most beautiful views you could ever imagine.  Friday afternoon we arrived to Granada, and began exploring the beautiful city. We first went around to experience some tapas and ventured on up to the Alhambra.

Busy, Busy, Busy Sprinting Around The Beautiful City Of Seville

Hello yall, I am back with another blog update on my education abroad trip to Seville. Last week I discussed my first couple days and weekend in Seville, which was awesome because I truly got to explore and understand the outstanding city I will be spending the next three months in. Now that I know a little bit about how Spaniards live there everyday lives I can truly see I am from a different country. During my first week I noticed and got use to the schedule of sleeping in till around 10am and going on with my day doing different things like walking and exploring the city and stores. Then right after lunch I was use to taking a short siesta (nap) and then waking up to finish up the rest of my day. Finally my day completed around 12am, and I woke up the next morning repeating the process. But ever since the beginning of my second week I have been extremely busy with all sorts of different activities. I have continued my classes, begun my internship, and was able to watch some futbol

First weekend in Seville

Hello, I'm back blogging for the second time about my first weekend in Seville. What an wonderful and exciting weekend it was. Over the weekend I got a do a variety of activities as well as meet a bunch of new people and practice my Spanish a little bit.  The weekend started on Friday, when I was introduce to my internship for the semester for the first time. One reason I wanted to participate in SAIIE and EUSA is because they give their students the opportunity for other opportunities other than just taking classes. I was given the opportunity to get an internship at Museo del Baile Flamenco, which I am very excited for as it will be a very new experience for me as I don't know anything about Flamenco or dance in general. On Friday, I was able to meet Museum team and get a tour of the whole Museum. The tour was awesome to see because I was able to learn a little history about Flamenco. After I finished at the Museum I then attended the SAIIE welcome lunch, where I was able to

First time out of the United States

Buenas Trades (Good afternoon) This is Matthew Walter from UW-Platteville blogging for my first time ever. Not only is it my first time blogging but the topic I will be blogging about consist of my first time out of the United States. I have always knew I have wanted to travel the world but never really knew when or where I was going to travel. Well in September of 2022 I began the long but easy process of applying to Study Abroad. Looking through all the programs that Platteville offered the one that caught my eye was the SAIIE program in Seville (Sevilla), Spain. I was most interested in this program because of all the different things they offer from schooling to extracurricular activities. After months of filling out the UW-Platteville abroad application and emailing the directors of the SAIIE program, February 12th finally arrived and my life was about to change forever. I was about to go into the brand new environment of Spain without knowing any of the native language, Spanish,
