Weekend in Jaén

Image
Hello everyone, I am back with another blog. This one will be focusing on my first trip throughout Spain by myself. What a wonderful experience and confidence builder it was as it taught me so much about, "ME." Earlier this week I went on Renfe, and book a train ticket from Seville to Jaén. I wanted to go visit my friend from college back in Wisconsin, and he currently lives in Jaén as he is teaching English to Spanish students. So Thursday night I packed up my bag and made the venture to Jaén on Friday morning. My train was bright and early on Friday morning. But getting to the train station was my first challenge of the weekend because I did not want to walk 45 minutes to the train station at 6:30 in the morning. So I hopped on my phone and called a cab through Cabify, which is an app that is similar to Uber. This was a challenge because of my language barrier but I overcame that challenge and made it to the train station in time to catch my train. During my three hour rid

BETIS & MOROCCO

Welcome back yawl, What a wonderful week I had. This weekend was definitely my favorite weekend abroad by far. First off my week started off great by having fun at my internship and learning a lot in my classes. For those that don't know the school week through SAIIE abroad is only Monday through Thursday, which is awesome because after work on Thursday my weekend officially began.  At the conclusion of work I rushed home and headed to a Betis game. Betis is a professional soccer team in Seville, and three friends and I got to experience an Europa league game which was awesome. The atmosphere in Betis stadium was absolutely electric, and I can't thank Stuart and Samantha for hooking us up with the best seats. Below you can see some pictures of us cheering on Betis. Friday morning we woke up bright and early and headed for the airport to fly to Morocco. We headed to Morocco for three days to travel through four cities and explore Africa. Everything went smoothly on the flight t

Weekending in Seville!

Hola Chicos, Welcome back to another weekend in Seville. What a weekend I had. Throughout the week I had no major plans for the weekend was just going to spend sometime exploring different parts of Triana, and the Centre of Seville. But the weekend hit and different things arose. I swear every week and weekend there is something different going on in Seville. Throughout the week I had my typical schedule of both school and work, which was good. My classes are going great as I am learning both about tourism businesses and improving my Spanish substantially. While at work the day is never the same, which is why I am really enjoying interning at Mueso del Baile Flamenco. Also early in the week I got to experience some very good local Spanish tapas with Stuart and Will, which was a good time. Then on Wednesday when I was walking home from class I got to see a parade/march take place for international women's day. This was cool to see all the women involved in the active. That is just a

SAIIE Included Day Trip to Cordoba

Hello y'all, Welcome back to my study abroad blog! This past Friday I got the opportunity to go on an day trip with the SAIIE program that included going to Cordoba with all seven students and our guide Samantha Chipres. Throughout this trip I got to see a bunch of beautiful sights, travel on my first train in Spain, and enjoy some wonderful tapas.  On Friday, we woke up at the crack of dawn in order to catch our first train. This was a very interesting experience because it my was first time riding on a train in Seville. My roommate and I arrived at the train station around 8:10am meeting up with the group. When I first walked into the train station I was surprised because it basically just looked like a mini airport, which was pretty cool to see. After everyone arrived we checked the big billboard to make sure we headed to the correct train. We headed down to the platform to load the train, but when our train arrived we realized we the billboard was wrong and we were waiting for
